Pastor Wes Alford and Family
Pastor Wes & Beth Alford moved to Sweetwater in the fall of 2003 after having served in the Nashville area for four years. Their firstborn son, Gibson, was one month old. Some six years and three children later (Christopher, Elizabeth & most recently, Nancy) they are still enjoying life in East Tennessee! The pace of life is slower than in the big city, and the people are friendly and welcoming.
The Alfords have found Sweetwater and the congregation of Christ Presbyterian Church to be a place of welcome and fellowship in the gospel of Jesus Christ. "This is a good place to minister the gospel and grow in the gospel" says Pastor Wes. "I have grown a lot and have found the people to be patient with me when I've made mistakes and encouraging in my overall life and ministry."
Wes feels his strengths as a minister are in preaching, teaching and pastoral care. His heart's desire is to see people grasp at a heart level the great mercy and grace of God in Jesus Christ. "I don't know which is more exciting", he says, "when the light comes on for me regarding some aspect of the gospel, or when I see it come on for someone else."
Pastor Wes and the folks at Christ Presbyterian Church would love to have the opportunity to get to know you, and to grow together with you in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
